Criteria for Evaluation of Candidates
Industry Knowledge & Compliance: Is candidate well trained and knowledgeable?
Good Business Partner: Do the employees of the broker/correspondent treat your staff with respect and
courtesy? Will they help you with post closing follow-up if asked? Do the loans submitted by the
broker/correspondent perform well? Does the broker/correspondent close an acceptable number/percentage
of the loans they lock with you?
Professionalism of Office & Employees: When you visit the broker/correspondent office is it professional in
nature. Is the office clean? Do employees have a professional appearance?
Customer Care, Data Security & Confidentiality: Does lender look out for the best interest of their clients
and provide good customer service? Are security measures are in place to protect confidential information
(e.g. is confidential information encrypted or password protected when sent via email).
Honesty and Integrity: Does the retail lender operate their business with honesty and integrity?
IAMB involvement, Industry Support and Activity: Does the member support the retail mortgage channel by
being involved as a sponsor or active committee/board member for IAMB? Due they donate time or money
to support the organization? See attached list of Board Members, Committee members and Sponsors.
